I had an almost all white finchy sort of bird at my cylinder type feeder at 1:30. The secondary wing feathers were gold finch like. The bill was more warbler and it was yellow lower and black upper. Also there was a yellowish tint to the neck feathers only visable with binoculars. Any ideas? Thanks

Hello
if you do not think it was a Goldfinch Which It very likely could be ...AT A FEEDER / TWO-TONE BEAK/ YELLOWISH IN COLOR.these can all be Goldfinch traits

However your ID of a warbler like beak..... may it have been a Golden Crowned Kinglet??

I hope it stays around for you

It was here again this morning with some g. finches. Very white except for tail and ends of the wings. The beak is yellow with black on the top eating sun flower seeds.

Although this may appear unrelated to this post. On the recent CBC field trip to Brookville there was a Turkey Vulture with a white rump that headed out from the side of the road and flew low over the field. Both Joe Kappa and I called it a Harrier. Jay Stenger noted that he saw a turkey vulture seconds before our sighting with a white rump. (Jay was one car ahead of us in the field trip caravan.) Upon reflection and discussion, Joe and I agreed that the bird did appear unusually dark and large and that Jay's ID was correct. There are many challenges and lessons in this story. Birding is hard!
