Where are the Red Headed Woodpeckers being seen?
I saw a recent post that 6 were seen there this past weekend.

They are being seen near the intersection of Williamsburg-Bantam and Sugartree Rds. at the south end of the park (Bethel). They are coming to a birder's feeders on private property. The feeders are visible from the road (Williamsburg-Bantam, not a busy road). Park at the "twin gates" that are at the end of Williamsburg-Bantam and beginning of Campbell Rd. Part of the park in this area is open to deer gun season, so it will be crowded at the twin gates. As I recall, none were *actually* seen on park property that day.

I have photographed red-headed woodpeckers near that very spot on a friend's land. I couldn't get an accurate count, but there were at least ten birds, probably more. (Also had an eagle fly circles overhead, as a bonus.)
You'll have no problem finding them!

Birders are welcome to pull in the driveway and walk around the right side of the driveway to see the feeders in the backyard. The Red-headed woodpeckers are hard to miss - they are usually vocalizing and very active. We've also had Purple Finches and a Fox Sparrow in the last few days.
Heading towards "double gate" area from park office, turn right on Sugartree and then left into first driveway.
