Are there more Starlings here this winter than in past years? It seems so at our condo community. I also see large flocks in flight as I drive in the Hamilton/Clermont area.

I was searching for a local website in hopes of finding an answer re: large flocks of Starlings here in Fairfield. On Rt. 4, aka Dixie Hwy., going south, just as I pass Jungle Jim's Market, there are Starlings lined up next to each other, completely covering the power lines that cross the highway. The birds are lined up on power lines along the sides of the highway also. I don't know that I've ever seen anything like this before. This occurs late afternoon, just before darkness sets in. I've also observed the most unbelieveable flocks of birds that seem to fly in an "S" curve formation. Don't think I've ever seen so many birds. These sightings are just burning my curiosity as to what is going on ?

Would love to here comments

Speaking of starlings, I saw a beige colored starling flying with several hundred normal colored starlings in the Wendy's parking lot north of the Hebron exit off I 275 in Northern KY a couple of weeks ago. The bird and its companions flew across the road to where the warehouses are. I saw it again when it flew back with the flock to the east side of the road, landing in the field behind the United Dairy Farmers.

This is the second weird starling I have seen this year. Another bird seen by Northgate Mall about a year ago had a white tail.
