How much time do I have to make bluebird houses and still catch the first batch.
Also, Is there still time to get a kestrel house erected.

Others would know better about the bluebirds, but I know that Kestrels should be starting right about now...

You should have a couple of weeks, at least. My bluebirds often examine the nest box in Feb, and are usually carrying nesting material in by mid-March, but they have been using this box for 12 years and have already established their territory. (I know, it hasn't been the same pair all this time.)

This year, I am anticipating a later start, with the amount of snow we have had/are predicted to be getting. For example, I usually have woodcocks by mid Feb, and I haven't heard a one yet, so I'm thinking other birds might be later, too.
