Here's a log of features that I've added recently. It doesn't include
updates to the events page, bird sightings, or the message board.
March 20, 2004: Several years ago, I offered a Windows version of a program that printed
a daily checklist, customized for the day of the year. It got badly out of date, and I
removed it from the website. Now you can find a new version of
CinCheck which prints the checklist directly from the web.
February 17, 2004: Several people have asked for a way to contact other birders. You can now
find a directory of local birders.
The directory will list you only if you have chosen to show your information.
September 1, 2003: Along with additions to the database, I have updated the bird list to
match the new A.O.U. checklist. This will be reflected in the database, in the Cincinnati bird list,
and in the list of birds available under 'trip list' in additions to the sightings log. For details
on the new A.O.U. checklist, see the message board.
July 31, 2003: Besides a routine update of the database records, I added many
thousands of record which Neill Cade kindly supplied to me. Thanks, Neill!
July 28, 2003: You can now use a checklist to add your sightings to the
sightings log. As with the message board, you will
now need to register and Log In before you post
your sightings.
July 14, 2003: You can now add your comments onto each of the
Where to Go Birding pages. Also, I added a page for
Indian Creek Wildlife Area, from Jay Stenger's
article from last spring in the Passenger Pigeon.
July 6, 2003: Revised the Bird List, which had become
badly out of date.
July 5, 2003: The Message Board is back. You will need to register
and Log In before you post a message.
June 15, 2003: The database
reporting page now has several more options.
May 18, 2003: Moved the site to its own domain, cincinnatibirds.com. There isn't much new for the moment,
but I expect to be adding new features soon.
